Exactly!!!
This moment and ‘They can’t bank worth a damn - fly around a tight corner.’ are the reasons I love Clint Barton. He’s not useless, he’s not this random with an outdated weapon alongside a bunch of superheroes. Cap puts him on that roof for a reason - not just because he can shoot better at a height, but because Barton knows how to call shots that Cap won’t be able to see from the ground. He can predict flight patterns and he can keep an eye on Tony and see more of the battle than Cap can on the ground.
In my mind Cap is the strategist, planning ahead in battles - like we saw in Captain America with the last Hydra base. He planned to be caught and for his men to show up. Barton, he’s not a strategist. He’s a tactician. He sees the immediate problem and finds a solution for it without always thinking about the long run strategy.

It was a glorious 12 minutes!
Source:gingerhazeWoops, getting behind on commissions! I’m powering through, I promise. This one is for starkexpos, who asked for Clint and Coulson! (This is the first of three Clint/Coulson commissions)
Source:archiehicox“Starting to root for this guy” as in “They sent me to kill her and I made another call” kind of root for this guy? Did he and Coulson make a deal after the whole whoops-Black-Widow-is-now-an-asset-sorry-Coulson deal where Coulson made Hawkeye promise to tell him when he started rooting for the person he was supposed to shoot in the head? How many times has this been a problem for Hawkeye? Is he, like, known in SHIELD for being the agent who might adopt the target you sent him to kill?
I firmly believe that this is what happened with him and Natasha. Like, Fury gives Clint the order, the next thing he knows Barton’s dragging Natasha in being like BOSS CAN I PLEASE KEEP HER I PROMISE TO CLEAN UP ANY BODY PARTS SHE LEAVES LYING AROUND PLEASE PLEASE PLEEEEEEEEASE
And his instincts aren’t bad, he manages to pick out people who will actually be assets, so it makes Coulson think twice when he says it?
HEAD CANON FUCKING ACCEPTED.
Source:crazyk-cjazzandrajah requested Baby Peter and Clint perching up high and causing some mischief~ (which is exactly what the two love doing! :D)
So Steve and Tony are out, and they decided to leave Peter in the hands on Clint again (they didn’t learn from the last time that it’s not a good idea). And so, now the two are having some Uncle-nephew quality bonding time ;P
